Whenever someone finds out that this will be Geoff's last year of seminary, people automatically pop out the question, "What will you do when you're finished?" I like to answer, "Good question." =) I remember people asking me this at the end of my college years, and it was so nice to have an answer! He hasn't even begun his last year yet, and I'm tired of this question already.
When I think of our future, it's like a deep black hole - who knows where it will take us! It's unnerving, but exciting at the same time. Geoff grew up in this area, and his family still lives around here, so he wouldn't mind sticking around. Just last week his parents announced that they had found a house about 2-3 hours away & will probably be moving in about a month. They've been looking for a place in the country, but we never really thought that they would actually move! But, off they go!
Geoff & I were talking about the future last week. Our long-term goal is go to the mission field, and we're looking at Ecuador. We'd like to get some experience before going. Geoff said he'd like to sit in on a deacon's meeting before actually having to lead one. :) So, we decided to look into an assistant pastor position for Geoff. He'll be speaking to our pastor & other men at the seminary for their counsel. By next year, we could easily end up anywhere in this country! On the other hand, we could still be living here just working & continuing to help in our church. Looks like we'll be continuing to live out Prov. 3:5-6.

The Lord will lead you in exactly the place where He would have you in the future. Do you know the Mayfields who are missionaries in Ecuador? They have 3 daughters who went/are going here to Northland. I know they would love to have you guys come "help" for a while to see if that is where the Lord would lead you. Let me know and I can get thier contact information to you!
I will be praying for you!
I KNOW exactly where you are. Stephen graduates this May so it's hard to believe that next year we'll be living somewhere else possibly - just don't know where that somewhere is. Thankfully, God does and it's almost freeing in a way because I don't have to "plan ahead". Look forward to seeing where God will lead you all!
Kelli,
Thanks for letting me know. It'll probably be 3-5 years before we head down, but I'll keep them in mind!
Shannon,
It's nice to know you're not alone. I know God will lead us where He desires us to be - a very comforting thought!
Don't let all the questions frustrate you. It seems people will always come up with something to put you on the spot about the "next phase" of your life - like Kelli & Shannon said, it's so nice to be able to rest in a sovereign God.
