Can You Imagine?

This may seem weird, but that's probably because it is. The other night we were sitting at our kitchen table having dinner - hamburgers & french fries. The strangest thought went through my head. "If George Washington were sitting here, we would have a LOT of explaining to do!"

It's amazing to think of all the things that have changed since the beginning of our country. I would have to explain:
1. Electricity
2. Girls wear pants now - not billowing dresses with petticoats
3. We eat some meals with our fingers - no utensils
4. My husband's shorts are acceptable in public
5. Automobiles
6. Powdery white wigs are NOT popular anymore, people dye their hair to hide the white.

And the list goes on. Can you imagine coming back from then to now? The poor guy would have a brain overload in no time! But with so much "progress" in the last century, even a person from the early 1900s would have trouble comprehending everything.

Guess these types of thoughts happen due to lack of sleep. :)

Interesting thought! I've always thought how strange it would be for ME to spend a day back THEN. I also wonder how completely shocked I would be if I knew what the world would be like in 200 years. ...I don't think it's weird at all! But maybe that's because I think those same thoughts!

Have you seen that Christian film "Time Changer"? Our church showed it for New Year's Eve a couple years ago. Your post reminded me of it because it's about this guy who travels forward in time and is appalled by what he sees. It's actually not that bad of a film, as I remember. You're right, as Ricky Ricardo would say, "you got some 'splainin' to do"
