Well, we're in the market for a car right now. As I told you before, this is why I'm learning to drive a stick in case we end up with one. Unfortunately, the great Escape is gone. I didn't think it would last long, but now I know that God has something else for us. Now, we're trying to figure out if this is the one.
Over the weekend, we went to a dealership to try out a beautiful Taurus that had been reduced to a great deal. We also wanted to try out another SUV that was close to our price range, and maybe could be talked down. I got the closing hours wrong, so when we got there, we only had time enought to drive the Taurus, which we liked, but I couldn't see well enough due to my short height (I pretty much need power seats to be able to see comfortably).
On Monday, I was once again checking out the inventories online & saw the SUV we were kinda interested in. The price had dropped $3000! I was shocked, so I called Geoof & told him to check it out on his way home from work. He test drove it, and said I should try it. So, I did last night. We've weighed the pros and cons, and the pros do outweigh the cons.
Last night after church, we walked out the door and there was the same SUV for sale by owner. That was weird! It was a lower type model, had more miles than the other one, and was more expensive. Was that a sign?? (we don't really believe in "signs," but it was a strange feeling) But, does that mean we should get it? Does anyone havc advice on determining God's will? Personally, I am an indecisive person, so this is wreaking havoc on me! I know that nothing is a coincidence, but we really don't want to rush ahead of God! We desire His best!
A mechanic will check it out tomorrow and give us an honest opinion about it. I guess from there, we'll make our decision.
Here's the cause of our sleepless nights!

Sounds to me like God is definitely steering you in the direction of this pretty SUV! Perhaps He allowed you to "get the hours wrong" so that the price could be dropped even more. The pros outweigh the cons, you know it's a great deal... In my experience, I just keep walking through the open doors until God obviously closes them. I'd talk to the "for sale by owner" person, tell him about the other SUV's great price, and see if maybe he'll bargain with you. Other than that and praying about it, maybe an experienced mechanic could test drive it with you? Go for it--God will close the door if it's the wrong one!

and have fun! getting a new car is exciting. when we got ours i was pumped to be rid of my old red topaz...may it rest in peace...i wanted an suv soooooo badly. and we tried to squeeze through every door possible to get one. :-)but that wasn't what God had for us (prices were NOT PRETTY) and now we have our taurus. i love it now.

Sounds like that suv is a great deal! just like the other gals, I say go for it and don't worry about it. We have been learning the whole not-worrying-about-what-to-do-or-what-
will-happen lesson this year as we trust God with jobs and money. He will always provide and will never leave us hanging out to dry. Can't wait to see a picture of you in your new wheels!

Christina, I honestly haven't wrung my hands yet! I've worked hard on not worrying, but just keep putting it back into God's hands and letting Him lead.
