Body For Life

About 6 weeks ago, I was challenged by the Proverbs 31 Weekly challenge to exercise 3 times a week. So, I began to walk in the mornings. It's not pretty. I don't have to be to work until 9 am, so at 6:40 am, I literally roll out of bed. By 6:45, I'm out the door with my swishy pants, sweatshirt, and earphones & walkman (from my 13th birthday!). No hair or teeth brushed - like I said, it's not pretty. Well, anyways, now I'm doing a jog/walk for 1/2 an hour every morning. The nice part is that I'm seeing results! I've lost 6 lbs. and the endurance is growing.

Now, I was searching on the internet and came across this program called Body for Life. It's a 12 week challenge to lose weight. It's based on 6 small meals a day --made of both protein & carbs & excercise - cardio workouts and weight lifting. This program is linked to a "healthy food" store & you are required to use at least one of their products during the challenge. These aren't prepared meals, but milkshake powders & energy bars and may be one of your meals. If you complete the challenge, fill out the form, and send it in, you have a chance of winning big bucks! $50,000 It's not based on how much you lose, but on your essay you send in.

This sounds good, but has anyone heard about it? We're thinking of starting up with the May 15 challenge & giving it a try this summer. Let me know what you think.

Good job on the discipline in getting up and walking/jogging! When we lived in the apartments on campus, I would get up almost every morning and work out, but since we moved to our house, I don't feel like I have enough time! (weird because we only live 2 1/2 miles from campus!) Anyways, I have not heard of the program that you mentioned, but I will check out the website. It is great to see results, isn't it? Good job!

Pamela,
Congrats on losing 6lbs! That's pretty exciting that you are starting to see the results! What is your secret for getting yourself out of bed so early? It seems like it would be so easy to just sleep in instead :) Jim and I love to play sports(especially volleyball and golf), and I'm so glad because I have a hard time with exercise routines.
Keep up the good work and hopefully you'll win the $50,000! You'll be in great shape and $50,000 richer, how cool would that be!

Great Job! I've been working out too, but haven't seen that much results, but am hoping it will pay off in the end!

I'm late on commenting but way to go on your weight loss! I'll check out the body for life link.

I too am in the fight to lose my baby weight. I'm jogging every other day and doing sit-ups like a mad dog. I saw results in the beginning but now it's a slower go. Think I'll add some leg lifts to my routine. Sheesh, this is hard work!
