Blind Leading the Blind

Since April we have been talking and talking and talking about trying out camping. We've heard many good things about it, and decided to bite the bullet. So last night after church we headed out to Wal-Mart & Target & bought a tent, a cooler, and a couple cheap pans, and today we'll pick up a camp stove. You should have seen us standing there looking at all the camping gear. We probably looked completely clueless - because we are! I asked Geoff, "Does this feel like the blind leading the blind?" We think we have everything. Here's our list for 24 hours of camping. If you think we missed something, please let us know!
  • Air mattress
  • Bedding
  • Clothes
  • Pans
  • Tent
  • Chairs
  • Stove
  • Lantern
  • Food for Breakfast & Lunc(Eggs, Hashbrowns, Bagels, Juice, Sausage/Hot Dogs, Chips, Soda)
  • Paper plates, napkins, cups, plastic forks
  • Water
  • Propane
  • Cooler
  • Flashlight
  • Smores stuff
Is there anything else?

I set up for us to head up to a simple campsite for one night. Thankfully, we found one not too far from us, so if we decide to come home, we will! Ready or not-here we come!

Sounds like you have it pretty much covered! I would recommend bug spray or buying one of those insect repelling candles!

camping rule#1- you'll always forget something!

Also- I usually bring a garbage bag and a roll of T.P. with me.
Have fun!

Like Samantha said don't forget the bug spray!

Also, I always used to forget something to spray the pans with so your food doesn't stick to them! That makes for a messy clean up that is for sure!

I hope you have a great time!!!

Thanks - we did pick up bug spray & a citronella candle too just in case. A grabage bag is a good idea. Thanks both of you!

Wish I could comment on this, but neither of our families never camped, and Stephen said it doesn't sound too fun to him. I think it would be a fun little adventure (and cheap!), but he's not real interested. He likes motels with ESPN and modern commodities. :) Poor Esther will miss out!

BUG SPRAY!!! And Hand Sanitizer. Those are my additions! Have so much fun! I know you will enjoy spending time with your husband. I know Heston and I love to go camping. We are trying to find a long weekend to go before school starts...Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Just check the forecast. Rain with strong winds always seem to come when I have gone:). Enjoy your getaway!
