Friday Survey-Snacks

I haven't done one of these for awhile. I guess when your life gets boring just blog about a little survey!

1. Which snack foods do you enjoy the most? Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks [or both]? My list of snacks could grow quite looong! I love sweets, which is not a good thing. :) On the other hand when I want something salty, I crave cheese crackers. Thank goodness they came out with 100 calorie Cheez-Its! For the most part, we don’t buy too many sweets because we know what it will do to us, so I buy the 100 calorie packs, granola bars, & fruit bars. Portion control is key!

2. Do you tend to snack most often during a particular time of day, such as mid-morning or late at night? I usually have a small snack as soon as I come home from work (about 5:15pm), so I don’t eat too much at dinner time. On the mornings that I walk, I usually get hungry way before lunch time, so I may take a small baggie of pretzels to help me out. Rarely will we eat anything after dinner.

3 Have you been craving any snacks in particular lately? Like what? Donuts. These are my downfall! We don’t buy them, but occasionally will have a min-date to Dunkin Donuts where Geoff gets a coffee & I’ll get the donut. Not that these go together, but I’ll also crave dill pickles, so we have a huge jar of those in our fridge.

4. Would you rather snack on chocolate or candy? In other words, are you a chocolate or a candy person? Chocolate! I love chocolate with nuts, peanut butter, or caramel Bring it on!

5. Do you crave any snacks that others might think are strange? Did you invent this snack yourself, and how did it come about? My mom always put leftover icing on graham crackers & this is something I still do today! Geoff never heard of it, but it’s not really all that strange.

Let me know what your fave snacks are!

Which snack foods do you enjoy the most? Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks [or both]? I LOVE ice cream. I also enjoy pretzels which are a lot better for me and lower in fat!

2. Do you tend to snack most often during a particular time of day, such as mid-morning or late at night? I'm really bad about eating late at night, but am trying Oprah's new thing - don't eat 3 hours before bed. That's great that you don't!

3 Have you been craving any snacks in particular lately? Like what? Like I mentioned - Ice cream is my downfall.

4. Would you rather snack on chocolate or candy? In other words, are you a chocolate or a candy person? I'm so weird - that I don't like chocolate. So I am a candy person - twizzlers, sour gummy worms, skittles, i like any of that stuff.

5. Do you crave any snacks that others might think are strange? Did you invent this snack yourself, and how did it come about? My mom taught us to have peanut butter and syrup mixed together on bread. Stephen had never heard of it.

1. SALTY! I could eat buttery fresh cooked on the stove popcorn all day long. Ruffles cheddar cheese and sour cream potato chips are also a favorite.

2. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon. That's the bummer about being a stay at home mom. You're home all day with no one to keep you accountable for your snacking.

3. Nutella (it's a hazelnut chocolate spread). Haven't had it in ages but that's a good thing because it's got about 25 fat grams per spoonful.

4. Definitely chocolate. I'm with you, Pam. Bring on the nuts and peanut butter.

5. Parmesan cheese along with butter on my popcorn. Sometimes I add some dry ranch dressing too. Delish!

Pickles and donuts, eh? Is there a baby in the oven you need to tell us about? :)

Shannon - I'm with you on the ice cream. We usually get the Light. Have you ever tried Blue Bunny Brand? To die for! We had it in CO, but it hadn't gotten to our grocery stores until a couple months ago! It's a "must be on sale item" though. :)
Al - Let's not start rumors here. :) I said I love pickles & I love ice cream, not that I love them together. There is a slight difference. No, I'm not hiding anything from you all, just talking about snacks. ;)

OOOOh, snacks!

1. Sweet AND salty, just depending on my mood. I love chocolate in any form, and for salty...chips, usually. Especially chips & dip.

2. mid-afternoon. I've gotten into the habit of snacking with the kids after their naps. Fortunately, it's usually something healthy, like fruit.

3. Don't get this preggo started on cravings... :) pickles (but not with ice cream!), original Lays chips, french fries...

4. Chocolate.

5. I really like mayo with my french fries. It doesn't go well with just any kind, though. Crinkle cut are the best bet.

We love chips too, but I don't get them on a regular basis. I don't care for mayo except for in potato salad, so I don't think I'll try the french fry thing. But, I do like dipping fries in ranch dressing. The ultimate fry dippinng thing is Wendy's Frosties! Yum yum!

ok, let me first say, all prego responses need to be monitored. they are totally biased at this point in life. :)

1. totally a salty freak. we (my fam and i) were just talking about this last night. popcorn is a favorite...has to be stove top and salted, of course.

2. i always get hungry mid-morning. but it's been good that i babysit, b/c i want them to have healthy snacks at that time so i just join in with a piece of fruit or cheese. that's been a good habbit.

3. i'm not a huge craver (though about 11 months ago i was!). oh, pammy! pickles are my most favorite "greenville" snack. nathan's gramma STOCKS her fridge for me...and my last three b-day cards and christmas presents have had to do with pickles. but they have to be claussen. that's why i never buy them...they are a little pricey.

4. honestly, i'm so not into candy. i am totally not into chocolate. i know that breaks "girl code" but i've never really enjoyed it. i'll nibble an occasional mini 3 musketeers or snickers, but only in winter. i hate chocolate in summer. when i was pregnant i went through a weird phase. whenever i saw the "twix" episode of seinfeld i got a twix. my one candy is caramel. especially sugar babies. i only get those up north.

5. here's my weird salty side coming out....i love to put plain lay's potato chips on pb&j's. i used to do it all the time in elem. school. and it just stuck.

way to bring back the survey, pam! i enjoy them.
