Church Baby Shower

I have a great reason why I haven't updated this in so long: LIFE. Time is flying & we're going nuts trying to stay up on top of things!!

This week my great friend Elyse, hosted a baby shower for me. Most of the guests were from our church. I walked away from that night feeling incredibly blessed as we looked at our office are filled with gift bags. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

Many of the Guests

Cute Little Cake! & real toys for the toy box!

I had a 1" piece - still watching my diet!!

Showing off my mom's handiwork!!

I love this figurine!

The Loot!! - Close ups to follow!

Yay! The baby will be able to come home!!
My dear friend and former college roomie, Liz (Eckman) Lovelace was able to come to the party. She sneakily e-mailed the girls from our Trailer, since we're all close like sisters & many of them pitched in for this great carseat!!

We were so blessed!!

Love the nursery rythme comforter and the Willow tree figurine. Baby showers are so exciting and it is always wonderful to know how many people care so much about you!

Pam, those pics are great. I'm so glad Liz was snapping away for all of us that wished we could have been there. Praise the Lord for providing so much for you & Geoff!

That's great! What a blessing! I saw you got Gerber baby wash & lotion. The oatmeal scent is my FAVORITE in the WORLD. My bff Michayla gave it to me at a shower, and I still use it for Luke. He smells so delicious after bathtime, and when he was a baby and we were getting ready to go out, I'd put some lotion on his hands and face and neck while changing him so he always seemed like one of those lovely-smelling babies - not spitty like all babies are sometimes! :)

What fun and what a huge blessing! I know, it's overwhelming seeing how giving and loving people are when a new baby is about to arrive. Your mom did a fabulous job on that crib bedding! Did she just do a quilt or all the extra stuff too (i.e. bumper, sheets, etc.)? Just wondering because I'm going to probably make crib bedding for our baby boy and I'm in need of some ideas. And how awesome that you got that carseat! That's going to be such a blessing down the road.

How's your gd doing?

Thanks, Girls!!

Carrie, It's unbelievable how much these little ones need. I can't imagine how hard it would be to get by without any showers, but there are people who have to do it all on their own!

Kristi, You like what you gave me?? :) It's perfect & good for 5 lbs. - 40 lbs.!!

Katie, Thanks for the tip about the lotion. A sweet smelling baby sounds wonderful!

Alicia, I'll post pics of the other pieces to the nursery set that my mom did. I'm still waiting on the bumpers since they're a little more complicated. There are many patterns to choose from! The quilt panel was already set up as a quilt with a coordinating fabric on the back & quilted through, so my mom just had to had the border. I made it easy for her. :) Fabric stores have many panels like this to choose from (this one is actually from Wal-Mart of all places!).
