Couples' Retreat

On Friday night, we headed out to Camp Calvary for our church's annual Couples' Retreat. Dr. Tony Miller from SC was the speaker, and did a great job using God's Word to reveal to us how to strengthen our marriages. One thing that stood out to me was his challenge before the 1st session. He realizes that our handouts would either go into the trash or be filed away never to be found again, so he had us pray that God would show us ONE truth out of each session to meditate on and work on. So many times, you head into a service or conference wanting to glean as much as possible, but walk away overwhelmed & forgetting most of it. So, here's a couple truths I have been reflecting on.

  • I need to focus on my God-given duties as a wife rather than on the shortcomings of my husband.
  • A woman's greatest needs is to feel loved, but a man's greatest need is to feel respected.

Kelly,
Dr. Miller's sessions were based a lot on that book. Our church bookstore is selling it now, and we'll be getting a copy!
