We're Off!

This weekend our church is having a couples' retreat at a nearby camp. We're so excited! It'll be fun to get together with other married couples and learn from them. Dr. Jim Binney will be the speaker. We really enjoy him, and have read his book Ministry in Marriage together for our family devotions. We hope to accumulate more tools to use in serving each other!

Pam,
Last year Ben and I went to a couples' retreat and Binney was our speaker too. He was great!! He made me laugh so hard, we really enjoyed him. I also have the book you mentioned but haven't read it yet. Is it good? I hope you had a great time!!!

Kelly,
I really recommend the book to all married couples. Since we had read it so recently, we realized that his speaking sessions are the same as the book. So, the book is a good reminder to us! Our pastor used it in our SS class (that's why we bought it), and he uses it for his marriage counseling too. I can see us using it too in the future if we are approached for marriage/pre-marital counseling. A nice thing about it is that you can read a chapter on a topic you're interested in too.
Now, I feel like I need to say that it only costs $19.99 plus shipping & handling. :)

Well, I will plan on reading it then. It's one of the few books I have left. When we moved to KY, all of my books were accidently put in storage. :( Binney's book happened to be in the car so I still have it. I am missing all of the other books though!

How sad about your books! Hopefully they won't be in storage too long! I guess you could be thankful that it wasn't something super important like all your silverware that got put in there accidentally. Will you be able to get to them anytime soon?
Also, how's seminary widowhood treating you? :) I'm sure as a teacher you're staying busy, but if you need to talk to someone who completely understands where you're coming from, let me know! I know our 1st year was pretty rough. Now, when I feel like I'm semi-adjusted, we finishing up!

We went to the storage place to look, but we put SOO much in storage that it is next to impossible to find those books without digging everything out.
Seminary widowhood is, well, the way it is right now. I usually stay at school until late at night which keeps me busy. Ben is also working 40+ hours a week so that kind of stinks. We have spent the last two years working together and so we were with each other all the time - literally - all the time. This is certainly an adjustment.
